The Seed encourages parents to take an active part in their child’s school experience in order to make it a true community for learning. They are encouraged to share their many talents and are valued as a rich source of information.
Parents contribute by teaching special classes, such as Art Masterpiece, helping with the monthly snack program participating in the classroom, donating materials or resources, driving on field trips, and serving on the Board of Directors. The Awakening Seed Parents’ Association sponsors the annual Halloween Carnival each year, in addition to other fundraising activities and parent support services.
Awakening Seed Parents Association (APA)
The APA is the Seed’s parent organization, which functions similar to Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in other learning institutions. The function of the APA is two-fold:
- Fundraising: Money goes to the Scholarship Fund, supplies and equipment for the school and bonuses for the teachers and staff.
- Service and support: Parents coordinate special events and offerings such as volunteering to be a Room Representative, Halloween Carnival, Scholastic Book Fair, spring picnic, yearbook, T-shirt sales, and much more.

Schools with Heart Foundation
Your tax credit helps students attend Awakening Seed School regardless of financial means.
How It Works
If you have an Arizona tax liability, your donation can be taken as a tax credit. For example, if you have a $3,500 tax liability for the year and you donate $2,000, your tax liability would be $1,500. If you will be getting a refund, you would get an additional $2,000 refund.
What types of donations are allowed?
There are two tax credits applicable to the Seed, the “original” tax credit and “switcher” tax credit. Both tax credits benefit our school but must be used in different ways. Once the maximum is met for the original tax credit, the remaining donation is applied to the switcher tax credit. The amounts allowed differ depending on filing status.
Original Tax Credit Contribution – $1,090 married/$545 single
Switcher Tax Credit Contribution – (must contribute max original before switcher credit is taken) $1,083 married/$542 single
Total Combined Tax Credit Contribution – $2,173 married/$1,087 single
A school tuition organization cannot award, restrict or reserve scholarships solely on the basis of donor recommendation. A taxpayer may not claim a tax credit if the tax payer agrees to swap donations with another taxpayer to benefit either taxpayer’s own dependent.
This contribution benefits students at Awakening Seed School. Once complete, please print this form and mail to:
