Meet the alumni of awakening seed school

I am currently a junior at Xavier College Prep and I will be graduating in 2017. My entire life I have played soccer. I eat, breathe, sleep soccer and I’m planning on doing it in college. Soccer is what makes me happy. I play on my high school varsity team and have been on my club team for nine years. When I was younger, I struggled with anxiety. Soccer was my only way to “forget” about my irrational fears. When I attended the Seed, everything changed for me. The encouragement and the support of the teachers helped me understand what my anxiety can do for me, how I can make it into something good. I specifically remember sitting down with Mary and writing a poem for our class poetry book. We edited and proofed it and she made me feel like I was writing a poem for a book that would be published and sold worldwide. She made me feel needed and wanted, and as a 4th grader with severe anxiety, that was very important to me. Mary was not the only one who helped me, and I am just so thankful for what the Seed has done for me. I am glad I’ve gotten the opportunity to share it with everyone else.
