As we close in on 2025, it’s a natural time to reflect on all the wonderful things that have happened at the Seed this year. Like the rings revealed in fresh logs added to our playground as a result of recent monsoon weather, this year has been another layer of growth and expansion for the school. Although we have had our challenges, there are many aspects of Seed life to celebrate. Here are a few:
- addition of our new shade structures over the sand circle and basketball court
- safe spaces in each classroom, multipurpose room, and playground
- successful clothing swaps and donation of leftovers to nourishphx.org
- Garden Club participation to support Seed gardening program
- beautifully decorated classroom doors by class room reps
- Working Genius staff training to maximize individual strengths/affinities
- a glorious and heartfelt celebration for Bill’s 80th birthday/retirement
- school-wide transition to the Brightwheel student information system
- robust trimming of all trees on the property
- deep dive into Conscious Discipline in staff professional development sessions
- R-Pack
- consistent, enthusiastic APA support
- well-attended and organized tie-dye and tile painting day
- successful 2nd annual fall festival
- seven staff members successfully completed LETRS training
- benches in front of the school re-tiled and repaired
- two more staff members earning college degrees
- food drive for St. Mary’s Food Bank that collected over 900 items
- expansion of recycling program to include soft and multi-layer plastics
- our stellar staff members who keep showing up day after day, giving their best selves to the Seed vision
- another magical Celebration of the Winter Solstice
- our extraordinary students and families
On this last school day of 2025, we offer our deepest gratitude to our community for the support that allows us to do our work in the world. May these efforts continue to bear fruit in the days and years ahead. Blessings to all of you for a peaceful and joyous holiday season.
