After the Seed

Choosing a school can be a daunting task. We see parents in this process every few weeks as they attend our introductory tours. It’s a huge decision to choose the environment where a child will spend most of his/her waking hours during the week. The early years shape a child cognitively, socially, physically, and emotionally. It’s also a big financial commitment. Generally, parents who select the Seed are a discerning group. We’ve have some parents who have looked at over twenty schools before selecting Awakening Seed. We respect this kind of attention to detail and do our best to provide a unique, high quality experience. We’ve realized it’s time to give parents more support and attention with the decision making process at the end of their Seed experience, in addition to what we do as they begin with us.

Naturally, we’d like all our Seeds to stay through their elementary years. We realize, however, that for a variety of reasons, families leave at different times, for different reasons. For those who do stay all the way through fourth grade, there comes the inevitable day when they become a Seed graduate. At some point all of our students have to leave. It’s a huge transition for both children and their parents and we want to be as supportive as possible.

To help facilitate the big step, we’re offering an evening information session for parents on January 29 from 6-7:30 PM. The session is called After the Seed and will include a list of potential schools with a number of individuals who have had experience with some of the schools. After information is provided about the schools, we’ll hear from parents of Seed alums and a couple alums themselves. Then we’ll open up the discussion for questions and hopefully supply a few answers. If we don’t have a parent or other knowledgeable person available that evening, we will provide a contact person to reach for further details about a specific school. This event is also appropriate for families who will be remaining at the Seed for a few years, but want to get a head start on the process.

Please join us if you’re interested in learning more about options beyond the Seed. A sign-up sheet will be posted in the office, so please add your name if you plan to attend.
